FIRST! [Takes Trolling Elsewhere]

Drank mine from a Cafetiere first off. Loving the maltiness, missing the ginger but there is a spicy presence in the finish..Getting a hint of the aley-ness akin to the Floresta Natural aswell.

Very nice coffee, looking forward to popping it into an Aeropress next chance I get

Another good episode and a successful outside broadcast – thinks back to last time on boat……………..

We all hoped Mrs H would pop up!

I knew if we waited long enough, someone would walk past in the background to add to the comedy value. Of course we all think it’s perfectly normal for a man in a flat cap to be talking into a camera about coffee on a long boat!

I like the coffee this week. Pleasantly different from recent offerings. I got the maltiness and spice and although I haven’t had Horlicks for about 40 years, the taste reference was spot on!

Not one I would buy, but super to try and again just reinforces the benefits of being a subscriber.

Nice Basil Faulty impersonation!! I half expected Sarah to come on after the pause with a letter stating “If only i had listened to Mr. Leighton, none of this fiasco would have happened” :)
Have loved all the Guatemala coffees from Hasbean, and the malty twist in this one is additional lure for me.

I am a new subscriber to in my mug.
Really please with the first coffee. As an espresso I get the ginger flavour coming through very late on the back of the tongue, it’s quite bold and spicy too. The flavours seem to get a bit lost in a latte. Also it is an easy coffee to dial in the right grind setting in for my fussy Rancilio Silvia.

Really like this coffee. Not sure if that’s partly to do with not having had one so massively clean in a while.

Struggled a bit naming flavours – but maltiness works for me. Got the ginger/spice at the end and a little bit of candied lemon as well.

Linda (wife) – She sniffed, tasted and smelled for about 20 seconds then said rhubarb and ginger – completely in ignorance of what is described in the site. (genius wife)

Terry: Just as hopeless as ever at converting tastes into words – but yes rhubarb defines something I am tasting (even more genius wife) – not rhubarb as such but the same range of effects on the taste buds experienced with rhubarb. The ground coffee has such a distinctive aroma yet I have no words to describe even that.

I have to say that despite my short-comings the whole process of roasting, tasting, reading, watching the videos is very interesting and enjoyable.

Yes, disappointed that your wife didn’t take part.

Definately enjoyed this cup. Sweet and malty. As far as naming a flavor – I’ve got nothing. Went back to the bag for a dry whiff and immediately thought of Chocolate Ovaltine. In the US this was a popular powdered chocolate mix added to hot or cold milk. Nothing like Herseys or Nesltes.

PS – sorry for missing the last couple of IMM’s. I have been on the road drinking Hotel coffee. Gag!
I must buy a hand grinder and Aero Press. I’m just afraid of what the Airport screeners will think.
Oh well – a strip search or two will be worth the excellent coffee.
