Have fun in Bolivia
Got confused when I opened the packet this morning, the bag says it’s from El Salvador.

Looks like you got your countries a bit mixed up mate, however as your video says Brazil I’m sure that’s right.
When I first opened the bag the pipe tobacco blew me away. Being a non-smoker I thought “I’m not going to like this”, but after a couple of days it grew on me though I wouldn’t buy it.
Do you think that opening the bag for a couple of days before drinking a new sample is a good general idea as since I started doing this I think the coffees have rounded off and improved but as you know I’m no expert, I just know what I like?

Back to this weeks coffee. Didn’t do much in the Cona, so I’ve left it ’til now to post, as I’ve only just fired up the Fracino. Got all the taste descriptors quite clearly in a double latte, but I’m not entirely sure I liked the result. On the upside it did make a very nice espresso once I’d adjusted the grind properly. Horses for courses I suppose, but not really to my taste I’m afraid.
Mine has el salvador on the label too? Either way lovelly coffee and really got big toffee.. dont normally like toffee so much but combined with the darker roast its really nice.. very happy with it…
Tried this as an espresso first but haven’t got the grind quite right yet. Just had it in the chemex, let it cool a bit and the character really comes through. In the middle it hits you like a steam train but either side is really calm. This is proper man’s coffee but as you say Steve it’s not dirty (that doesn’t sound quite right does it?). Different but you know I think I like it. I used to think that Brazilian (it is Brazilian isn’t it) coffee was dull and uninteresting, but these are some of my favourite coffees now.

A slightly darker roast than I’m used to seeing from you Steve, but the yummy, juicy, syrupy espresso it makes easily justified it! Probably the nicest cappuccino I’ve made at home with hasbeans yet! Not a grain of sugar needed
I’ve found the tobacco/liquorice a bit overwhelming in this coffee, in the usual brewed methods.
That said, I’ve really enjoyed it chilled, and as a pour-over with heavy foods (an oatcake breakfast particularly) – occasions where having those powerhouse flavours are helpful because more subtle nuances get masked.
